Twilight over Lake Llanquihue with the Osorno volcano on the horizon

Where to Stay in Puerto Varas

Lake views, wooden heritage houses and a volcano outside the window — here is where to sleep.

Puerto Varas has the widest choice of accommodation in the Lake District, and for most travellers it is the right base: every tour picks up in town, restaurants are a short walk away and the volcano view is on the doorstep.

Below are the properties we would book, all checked on Trip.com for location and guest scores. We do not show hotel photographs — we have no licence to use them — and we do not quote nightly rates, which change constantly with the season. Every card links to live prices and availability.

  • Music or a quieter stay: Frutillar, 30 minutes away.
  • One night in transit: Puerto Montt, near the bus terminal and 25 minutes from the airport.
